A long time cyclist, doing Audax long distance events in the past. Came into hill running in 2005 after Hashing whetted my appetite to do more - joined Westies, found I had a little ability and now think of myself as a hill runner. Enjoy the ready reward of being up on the hills.

Favourite Races
Cort ma-Law - a great runnable course, across the bog and over the burn. The Two Breweries - a classic point-to-point, especially on a clear day. Prefer races with runnable uphills, not too steep.

Most Memorable Race
Glen Clova 2005 - running across the bleak moors in atrocious weather convinced I was on the right compass line. The Devil's Burdens 2005 - first ever hill race. A great fun introduction to hillrunning on a crisp clear day. A sudden realisation going up East Lomond - 'this is hard!!' Struggling to keep up, bouncing down the firebreak.

Other Interests
Cycling, light touring and Audax events (non-competitive) - a great way to see and get to know much of Scotland's country. Hillwalking - getting a different perspective, joining up the bits between the roads.
